As I write this I am sitting in a cafe in the "North Beach" district of San Francisco. The trolley car just drove by up the hill and I am having lunch. I left the house this a.m. determined to find a new locale for my daily wifi job hunt. I ended up walking for about 2 hours - up hills, down hills, through Chinatown, near the water, through the italian district and some random streets.
Across the street is an "Indian Cuisine pub" - hmmm... that's an interesting combination. Open till 1 am eh? I am sure Scott and I will end up there eventually. One of the neat things about S.F. is the combination of people, places, and things. The euro is strong to the dollar right now so there are Europeans everywhere. I hear at least 5 or 6 differnt languages everyday and I see shops and stores that I had thought were extinct (like a hat shop and luggage repair store).
We have eaten italian, greek, spanish, thai, mexican, and american cuisine - in the last week or two.
Though my AK friends and family will be happy to know that I had a fit of "I miss AK" on Saturday night. I suppouse its all a part of getting used to things here - there area always pluses and minuses to everything. I promise to post pics soon!!!! : )
